Welcome to the Norwegian Institute of Journalism

The Norwegian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) is a non-profit foundation for education of media practioners. 

NIJ was founded in 1975 by the country’s principal media associations: Norwegian Union of Journalists, Association of Norwegian Editors and Norwegian Media Businesses' Association. 

The Norwegian Institute of Journalism delivers hands-on trainings and post-education of journalists and media professionals in Norway and with a long track record of successful training projects internationally. 

Our staff of in-house lecturers, together with external experts and media proffesionals, covers a wide range of journalistic topics; press law and ethics, digital research, writing / storytelling, artificial intelligence, data-journalism, photo and audio production, newsroom tools, editorial management and coaching.

The Norwegian Institute of Journalism is located at the Norwegian Press House in Oslo.
